 Is it hard to get JAV and cigarettes in Japan if you're underage? JAV: do the people in Japan care if they're selling to 17 year olds? cigs: same as above. Also I heard that the vending machines now have T card things which prevent underage people buying them, so could I just ask a passing by businessman or someone to buy it for me? Thanks in advance.      |

| Yea. The ordinance has been newly-revised and the vending machines have been replaced to the new machines which require you to show or touch Taspo card. All the machines would be replaced until this Summer. Even the convenience stores are placing notifications as "no alcohol and no cigars until 20 years old" in Japanese now. Japanese businessman will refuse you since they don't understand English. As for JAV, at where are you going to buy one? On-line shops require you to prove your age in advance. Maybe you can buy some in Shinjuku area. |
