Default Think I'm getting addicted to cigarettes how can i stop myself?

Hey well here's the issue, for the past year or so I've been going over to my friend's place and we'd chill there invite people over party/go out the whole deal. I normally just have a drink or two or we get blazed but recently one of my friends who just took up smoking brings cigs. All i can say is wow, i loved it from my first dragg wayyy better than weed or alcohol imo. I have never had a a craving to drink or smoke ganj but i find myself smoking more and more when i go hang out with them even bumming a couple extra for later use. So I've smoked 8 cigs in the last 3 days. Before that I had smoked maybe 4 cigs in my life. It's just crazy though i find myself thinking about cigarettes just cause it felt so good, i know i'm not physically addicted at this point. I really do not want to be addicted, they smell disgusting and are extremely harmful much more so than weed. What can i do to stop myself from smoking when i see friends with them? I don't want to detach myself.

Hi,
self-control, unfortunately, is really the only thing you have to keep you from smoking.
please keep in mind, too, that the more you smoke the less of an effect they have - no more 'high'.
also, the more you smoke, the more you will want them, because nicotine is just as, or more, addictive than heroine.
just don't do it. avoid the situations if it is really that hard for you, you are obviously on your way to being addicted and which is more important - your life or hanging out? if your friends are your friends they will understand and want the best for you, right?
it is very difficult to quit, so you're better off not starting, especially if only a few cigarettes have caused this much of an effect on you.
Good Luck Doll!
