No. It's a mystery to me why people rave over it. It's really quite bland. I think maybe people have just been suckered by Guinness marketing into thinking it's Ireland's national drink, and now Irish people feel patriotic about liking it. It's about as good as Harp lager (and I don't think they even make that any more).

I recommend trying a range of other, tastier drinks. Try wine at £5+ a bottle. Or try bottled beer. Fullers ESB is good. So's 7 Giraffes. Leffe Bruin is great too, if you like continental beers.

After a few months of this type of thing try Guinness again and you'll see that you're cured!
