They make it sweet and thick with sauteed onions chopped up in it...a lot of the recipes i've found online call for ginger or soy sauce or ketchup but this one seems like it may have honey and some other stuff in it. It's really delicious, I'd love to make some to put on chicken..

BOURBON BARBEQUE SAUCE
1 c. ketchup
1/3 c. bourbon
1/4 c. molasses
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Mix well, let stand several hours.

Sweet Bourbon Sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup bourbon
2 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard
Combine all ingredients together in a medium bowl until well mixed.
