Default How OFTEN should I defecate/poop/take a dump?? I do it only once every 3 or 4 days!?

I heard people should defecate once per day but I can't do that, even though I eat a lot of food everyday! My feces is also hard solid , little water, and quite a lot each time I go. It literally takes me an hour to defecate. I feel bloated sometimes, but such a light wonderful feeling after each defecation session! My heart rate even increases several beats per minute after defecation.

If it helps any, my dad also defecates only once every 3-4 days. Maybe it's genetic. The longest I held it in is about a whole WEEK.

Am I reabsorbing feces? Am I poisoning myself? My brain feels slow and body tired when I don't defecate for a while.

normally a person should go 2-3 times a day. you may need to start drinking more water and some prune juice. go to a drug store and get some stool softners they may help.

There is no set frequency that you should be having a BM, but every 3 to 4 days is probably not often enough. You sound like you're constantly constipated. You should really try to increase your fiber intake.

Eat more fiber rich foods. Fresh fruit and vegetables and whole grains like oatmeal and whole wheat bread. Drink a lot of water.

U should defecate at least once a day. Die hard enthusiastist believe you should defecate after each meal.

You want to keep your bowels moving so you don't reabsorb toxins.

The key is to change your diet try to get at least 25-40 grams of fiber daily.

make sure you go every day. it can back up your larger intestine. drink tons of water to soften it

if stool is hard, something is wrong. you and ur dad might have some genetic predisposition to it, that is true, but don't consider it as normal just cause u both have the same issue.
do you consume minimum 25 grams of fiber per day. you need to!!!

Screw the fiber, drink brown ale. You'll shit 3 times a day. Heaven is a good brisk brown ale shit. Try it, you won't regret it. The Salad Nazi's will have you believing that fiber is everything. Eating veggies is good of course, but chugging down 6 brown ales a day works wonders. 12 works even better, but build up slowly.
