Default US Customs Regarding Cigarettes?

Flying into the US from Canada... just wondering what the laws and regulations are if I were to bring in cigarettes in my luggage....

Guess I'm just paranoid that they'd think it was drugs or something instead.

Browsed their site, couldn't find anything good.

I think the normal restriction is 2 cartons. On my return flights from UK,Canada & Asia, I've sometimes accidentally brought back more then 2 cartons without knowing it, I didn't claim them. It doesn't seem like a big issue, unless you make it one. Obviously the bigger problems are drugs and other contrabands. If you are caught with more than you are a lotted to bring in terms of tobacco they will most likely just confiscate them. I don't believe this is a federal crime and you'll most likely just get a stern warning.

Have fun in the US!
