Default 2 litre turbo diesel vectra feul pump is broken, not the pump in the tank but

one under bonnet how do i change had a diagnostic done and it says front feul pump is nt pumping sufficeint fuel, hw easy is it to change this myself...have done an engine swap and several gearboxes so have some mechanical knowledge but a more detailed guide would be preferable b4 i start

The pump is driven from the timing chain and so, after locking the cam and crank with the correct locking tools (a haynes manual is useful here) you must then remove the chain tensioners and the front timing cover. the fuel pump can be unbolted (torx bolts) and the chain carefully lifted off and then the pump removed. Be careful not to drop any bolts as they will fall into the botton of the timing cover. This operation is detailed in haynes manual and if the instructions are followed to the letter, should be an achievable job for someone with reasonable mechanical knowledge.
Incidently, it is probably the electric circuit part of the pump that has failed and it is possible to replace this part saving you the cost of a new fuel pump.

<----mechanic ! i think its the fuel pump relay its under the black cover in your engine bay just changed 1 last week !
