Budweiser American Ale...? I just saw a commercial for a new Budweiser product -- Budweiser American Ale. It says it is top-fermented (well duh...) and dry-hopped. I'm not sure what to expect from this.
What are your thoughts?
Will it be a good product? Will it take sales away from microbrews around the country? Will it convert Budweisers drinkers into more refined consumers of alcohol, acting as a gateway drink into the world of craft beer? Why are they doing this, since a previous ad campaign complained about how darker beers can "hide" imperfections?
I have a few opinions on some of those points, but I'd like to hear what you think first.
First story I found when Googling the topic : http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/business/stories.nsf/0/83D7D33AC2D20BFC862574130006DB00?OpenDocument
Couldn't find the actual ad I saw, but here's a 'tutorial' Budweiser produced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGcqjJootQY |
