Ok, so most people believe the gov shouldn't interfere with the current drinking epidemic in the UK - there are loads of nice folk out there enjoying the cheap booze who don't cause havoc - it's the few ruining things for the many etc. What's the answer then? Is there one, or do you think this binge drinking thing should be allowed to run it's course , however long that might be?

It doesn't seem that long ago to me when the landlord was well within his rights to refuse to serve anyone who he thought had had too much to drink. So, maybe if the people in charge of drinking establishments took more responsibility as to who they served, it will be a start towards reducing the number of drunkards.

I have seen some tv programmes where the police seem to be completely overwhelmed with the problem. I think if anyone is arrested and taken into custody they should be fined a hefty amount because if they're hurt in their pockets they just might think twice about doing it again.

It's really not fair that sensible drinkers should be penalised because of the outrageous few.
