in which fish are being bred. The tank has diameter 4 m and depth 1 1/2
m, and is open at the top.
The vertical supporting poles for the framework are 2 m long, and the length of each of the sides of the roof of the
framework is 5 m.

28.1 How many litres of water are in the tank, if it is always kept 2/3
full?

28.2 Suppose that the inside of the tank (including the base) is painted with a waterproof paint that costs R20 per

28.3 Suppose the shelter has shadecloth over the top and around all four sides. How many square meters of
shadecloth must be provided?
28.4 Suppose a bigger tank must be built underneath the same shelter. Two options are considered. For tank 1
the radius of the given tank is increased by 1/2
m; for tank 2 the height of the given tank is increased by 1/2
m.
Which is the better option? Explain your answer.
